Who says there is nothing to do in Kuwait without spending money? I agree, it is expensive country but still expats and locals can enjoy activities without breaking their wallet. Living in Arab country makes me realize that one can get happiness for free yet most people spend a lot for spas, resorts, golf clubs, expensive gym and overpricing restaurants. Kuwait is evolving to a vibrant country each day and becoming open minded and helpful.
After trying these cool free activities you’ll never think Kuwait is boring.
Stargazing at the desert
Kuwait‘s flat landscape desert is ideal for stargazing allowing you to see 360-degree panoramic view of the horizon. Al- Salmi Highway (Road 70) or Saudi-Kuwait border has the best spot to behold the constellation. It is hundred kilometers away from the city center and has no light pollution. Grab a tent and do camping. Barbeque is also a great idea with friends but make sure to be responsible on your waste. The place is so calm and dark that you would be able to see falling stars and meteor showers with your naked eye. You may also use special telescope to see brightest stars. If you are planning to stay overnight, it is best experience to catch the sunrise. If I will to choose the best place in Kuwait, it would be in the desert.
Join Grand Mosque Guided Tour
The biggest masjid (mosque) in Kuwait is the Grand Mosque located in the city center opposite to Al Seif Palace. Tourists and visitors can visit the mosque every morning at 9:30am and can have a guided tour free of charge. The tour takes more than an hour. Proper dress code should be observed as you are entering a sacred place. For ladies, you may borrow headscarves and abayas upon arrival at the mosques. Keep in mind that shoes should be removed while indoors. The main prayer hall is so magnificent with its huge chandelier hanging and elegant carpet. Fortunately taking pictures and selfies are permitted inside.

Hit the Beach
I would recommend Al-Khiran area in the south of Kuwait. It is open for public (as of now) and it has the cleanest shore among others. Aside from the beach, it has a nice landscaping design which attracts tourists and residents. With good friends and family members, Al Khiran is perfect get away from stressful life.
